AREVA NP, Inc. a subsidiary of AREVA, has an internship opportunity with the Strategic Communications and Marketing Department. AREVA NP is dedicated to the design and construction of nuclear power plants and research reactors, instrumentation and control, modernization and maintenance services, components manufacture and the supply of nuclear fuel.
The Strategic Communications and Marketing department develops and implements communication plans and tools that increase employees' awareness and understanding of business strategic initiatives, promote AREVA NP products and services to external audiences, and support specific sales initiatives. The Corporate Communication team creates and implements strategic communication plans and tools, provides professional communication counsel, and works with various groups to promote key initiatives. We use a variety of tools including the Internet and intranet, advertising, electronic newsletters and postcard
Working closely with a variety of AREVA employees as well as other professionals in the Lynchburg area, you will support AREVA's participation in various activities including:
- Lynchburg Grows - partnership with this organization as part of our sustainable development commitment. Some examples include conducting Lynchburg Grows events at AREVA NP Inc. facilities, partnership for Earth Day, and other events related to sustainable development as it relates to the environment.
- Rebuilding Together - volunteer recruitment in support of organization's event.
- United Way - recruitment and coordination of volunteers for annual Day of Caring event in May and conducting a company-wide annual fundraising campaign in August.
As you work in this fast paced and highly visible position, you will support AREVA's community outreach efforts by taking on the following responsibilities:
- Writing articles to promote AREVA's participation in various community activities
- Working with internal and external organizations in support of AREVA-sponsored events
- Recruitment and coordination of employee volunteers
- Maintaining records and promotional materials associated with activities
- Coordination of AREVA's sky box at Calvin Falwell Field
- Campaign implementation and collateral development
- Supporting other internal and external communication activities
