Senior goalie Garrett Curran (Hull, MA/Tabor Academy) was vital for Lynchburg’s two victories last week. The Hornets finished the week with a 2-0 record and allowed just 15 goals while scoring 32. Wednesday against Washington & Lee, Curran allowed just five goals and tallied 13 saves along with nine groundballs while shutting out the Generals in the fourth quarter with six saves. Saturday against rival Roanoke College, Curran posted another sparkling performance, posting 19 saves and five groundballs, with nine saves in the decisive second half when the Maroons were held to just four goals. The Hornets are 12-2 overall, clinched the regular season title and the top seed in the upcoming conference tournament, and are ranked fifth in NCAA Division III.
