Guilford Defeats LC Men’s and Women’s Tennis 6-3
LYNCHBURG, VA – The Guilford College men’s and women’s tennis teams each swept matches Sunday against their Lynchburg College counterparts by identical scores of 6-3, played at nearby E.C. Glass High School.
Senior Jay Duimstra (Toms River, NJ/Toms River North) played in his last home match of his career, and was victorious in three sets at #3 singles and teamed with Kyler Paluga (Williamsburg, VA/Lafayette) to score a win at #3 doubles. Paluga also won 6-2, 6-0 at #6 singles. The LC men are 4-12 overall and 2-7 in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC).
Sophomore Rachael Ferrara (Skillman, NJ/Notre Dame) captured both of her matches Sunday as well, earning a 6-2, 6-1 win at #1 singles and 9-8 (7-4) at #2 doubles with Jessica Moore (Salem, VA/Glenvar). Elizabeth Eckert (Annandale, VA/Annandale) and Kristin Bishop (Big Rapids, MI/Big Rapids won 8-4 at #1 doubles. LC falls to 2-12 and 1-7 in conference play.
