Lynchburg Women's Lax Falls To CNU 17-7

NEWPORT NEWS, VA – The Lynchburg College women's lacrosse team fell on the road 17-7 to Christopher Newport University on Sunday afternoon in non-conference action.

The Captains jumped out to a quick 3-1 lead, but the Hornets would fight back with two unanswered goals to tie the game at 3-3. CNU went on a 10-0 run to close out the half. Kathryn Ollice led Lynchburg with two goals while Lindsay Gengras and Nichole Locher each posted a goal and an assist.

Meghan Harkey paced the Captains with four goals and two assists and Christina Mike tallied three goals and one assist. Kylene Jennings and Kaitlin Quigley found the back of the net twice, Katie Doherty had one goal and three assists, and Bonnie Hansen has a goal and two assists.

LC (7-7/2-4 ODAC) travels to Washington & Lee University on Tuesday for an ODAC clash at 4:30 pm.
