SALEM, VA – The sixth-ranked Lynchburg College softball team remained unbeaten in Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) play, sweeping a doubleheader Saturday at traditional conference powerhouse Roanoke College, 6-5 and 6-1.

Junior Tara Campbell (Leesburg, VA/Loudoun County) blasted a pair of home runs in the first contest, and finished with four RBI. Lauren Duguay (Williamsburg, VA/Jamestown) went 2-4, and drove home the winning run with a two-out, two-strike single in the top of the seventh frame. Freshman Katie Bruce (Lanexa, VA/Lafayette) worked 2 2/3 innings of one-hit relief to earn the win, and was 2-4 at the plate. Amber James (Manahawkin, NJ/South Regional) was 2-3.

Bruce took command of the nightcap, throwing a complete-game five-hitter, striking out three. She went 2-3 in the batter’s box with a home run, two RBI and two runs scored. James was 2-2 with a homer and two RBI while Elizabeth Perkins (Kents Store, VA/Fluvanna County) was 2-4 with a solo home run.
