Hornet Men’s Tennis Defeats Gboro, Women Lose to Pride
GREENSBORO, NC – The Lynchburg College men’s tennis team posted a 5-4 victory Tuesday afternoon at Greensboro College, while the LC women were defeated 7-2.
Junior Daniel Civis (Forest, VA/Holy Cross) won his #2 singles match 6-2, 6-1 and teamed with Kristian Richardson (Trenton, NJ/The Hun School of Princeton) to win 8-3 at #1 doubles. Jay Duimstra (Toms River, NJ/toms river North) captured an easy win at #3 singles, while Brian Nelson (Charlotte, NC) and Kyler Paluga (Williamsburg, VA/Lafayette) won their singles matches at #5 and #6, respectively.
Freshman Jessica Moore (Salem, VA/Glenvar) won at #2 singles 6-2, 6-0, and Rachel Moore (Richmond, VA/Varina) and Julie DeVries (Kinnelon, NJ/Kinnelon) defeated their Pride opponents at #3 doubles.
The Hornet women will face Sweet Briar College Thursday at 4:30 p.m. on the LC Courts.
