Hornet Tennis Teams Sweep Randolph
LYNCHBURG, VA - The Lynchburg College men’s and women’s tennis teams traveled across town Tuesday afternoon and captured two Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) wins over Randolph College.
Lynchburg won the men’s match 7-2, behind wins at #3 singles from Jay Duimstra (Toms River, NJ/Toms River North) and #3 doubles. Kyler Paluga (Williamsburg, VA/Lafayette) teamed with Duimstra in doubles action and scored a 6-1, 6-0 win at #6 singles. Brian Nelson (Charlotte, NC) also won in both singles and doubles play, and Daniel Civis (Forest, VA/ Holy Cross) won a hard-fought match at #2 singles.
Elizabeth Eckert (Annandale, VA/Annandale) won matches at #2 singles and #1 doubles to lead LC to a 6-3 win over Randolph in women’s action. Krysten Bishop (Big Rapids, MI/ Big Rapids) won at #3 singles and with Eckert at #2 doubles, while Jessica Moore (Salem, VA/Glenvar) was victorious at #4 singles and #3 doubles.
The Hornets host North Carolina Wesleyan College on the LC Courts Friday at 3 p.m.
