
Dr. Casey Clabough, associate professor of English at LC, will be one of the featured authors at the Virginia Festival of the Book March 27-28. In its fourteenth year, the festival is an annual celebration of books and literacy produced by the Virginia Foundation of Humanities.
Dr. Clabough is author of The Warrior's Path: Reflections Along an Ancient Route and The Art of the Magic Striptease: The Literary Layers of George Garrett. He will be featured alongside other authors such as Jan Karon, author of The Mitford Series, Mike Farrell, M*A*S*H star and author of Just Call Me Mike, and Adriana Trigiani, author of The Big Stone Gap Series.
More than 300 participants will convene in Charlottesville for discussions in a host of free and open-to-the-public events. Some programs do require paid tickets. The entire schedule appears on the website, www.vabook.org.
Dr. Clabough will be participating in "Roads, Rivers, and Quests," at 8 p.m. March 27 at Blue Ridge Mountain Sports, 1125 Emmett St., and "Forming American Identities: Southern Writers" at 4 p.m. Friday, March 28, at the UVa Art Museum, 155 Rugby Road. The second forum is the conclusion of a colloquia series investigating how Southern history and culture affect and create our understanding of what it means to be an American.
