LC Women Breeze Past Medaille 18-4

LYNCHBURG, VA – Senior attack Nichole Locher (Yorktown Heights, NY/Yorktown) found the back of the net four times to lead the Lynchburg College women’s lacrosse team to a 18-4 win over non-conference opponent Medaille College (NY) Wednesday evening in wet conditions.

The Hornets led 3-2 after 12 minutes of play, but would rattle off the next 10 goals to put the game out of reach. Deana Welsch (Yorktown Heights, NY/Yorktown) had three goals and two assists, Kathryn Ollice (West chester, PA/West Chester) tallied three goals and one assist and Lindsay Gengras (Avon, CT/Avon) had two goals and two assists. Emily McMillan (Hockessin, DE/Wilmington Friends) and Elizabeth Moulden (Annapolis, MD/St. Mary’s) each scored twice while Emma Lippert (Devon, PA/Conestoga) and Ashley Stern (Kings Park, NY/Kings Park) split time between the pipes, combining for 13 saves.

Melyssa Tollar netted three goals and added an assist for the Mustangs (1-2).

The Hornets (5-2) host Virginia Wesleyan College Friday at 2:30 p.m. in an Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) match.
