Q: Can confidential papers be recycled?
A: Yes! Shredded paper may be placed in the paper collection bins. If you are not shredding your confidential papers on the premise, contact physical plant and they will make sure the confidential papers are properly shredded and then recycled.
Q: The plastic containers say only plastic bottles can be recycled. Can I do more than that?
A: Yes, plastic numbers 1-7 can be placed in the bin. Check on the item and make sure it has one of those numbers on it. For example, Wal-Mart bags are number 2, therefore they can be placed in the blue bins.
Q: Can I recycle books?
A: Yes! Please place books next to the paper collection bins. You do not need to do anything to soft-cover books. For hardcover books, we ask that you remove the hard cover and then place it next to the paper collection bin.
Q: Why are there no glass collection bins?
A: Unfortunately, Sonoco does take glass; they do not recycle it. Therefore, we are not collecting it.
