Student Residence Hall Recycling Coordinator Responsibilities
- Serve as channel of communication between students and LC Recycling Program
- Answer student questions regarding recycling program
- Notify Physical Plant or Dr. Pavey of issues within your building, such as damaged or missing containers, etc.
- Possibly work with Res Hall staff to schedule educational programs related to recycling
- Monitor for contamination in recycling containers
- On at least a weekly basis, check the recycling containers in your building for contamination (stuff in there that shouldn't be). If possible and easy, remove contaminants.
- If contamination is a significant problem on a certain floor, work with RA to make sure residents know what is recyclable and what is not.
- Serve as "cheerleader" for recycling program
- Encourage and inspire residents to recycle!
- Encourage students to utilize the desk-side containers that are now available for each dorm room to collect their recyclables
