EMORY, VA - The Lynchburg College baseball team took both legs of an Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) doubleheader Sunday, knocking off the Wasps 14-0 and 17-2.

LC (11-6/4-0 ODAC) pounded out 36 total hits on the afternoon, allowing only 11 over the doubleheader. In the opener, LC scored in every inning except the seventh in recording their first shutout since a 3-0 blanking of West Virginia Tech back on Apr. 19, 2005.

Sophomore Jeff Taylor (Lynchburg, VA/Heritage) was 3-4 with two driven in, while Cameron Grant (Lynchburg, VA/Heritage) was 2-3 with two knocked in and three runs scored. Ryan Litz (Forest, VA/Jefferson Forest) was 3-4, while Kyle Bradley (Brookneal, VA/William Campbell) and Ronnie LaBrie (Vinton, VA/Staunton River) each had two hits. Junior southpaw Rich Glover (Bedford, VA/Liberty) got the win, going six innings allowing only four hits while striking out four Wasp batters.

In the nightcap, Lynchburg used an eight-run fourth inning to blow things open, cruising to the lob-sided 17-2 victory. Grant and LaBrie again paced the Hornets in game two, as each collected four hits in as many at-bats. Junior Ricky Capelli (Williamsburg, VA/Lafayette) was 2-5 with two runs and two RBI, David Gaines added two hits, and Bradley finished a nice day, going 3-4 with four runs scored.

Conner Thompson (Solomons, MD/Reservoirs) got the win for LC, logging five innings while surrendering just two Wasp runs. Joe Devlin (Ashburn, VA/Broad Run), Justin Ferrell (Red Oak, VA/Randolph-Henry) and Jared Millner (Forest, VA/Jefferson Forest) combined for four scoreless innings of relief, allowing only one hit and one walk.

The Hornets are back on the diamond Thursday when provisional-Division III Penn State-Harrisburg comes to Fox Field for a non-conference battle at 2:30 p.m.
