LC Softball Wins 14th-Straight at Salisbury

SALISBURY, MD – The Lynchburg College softball team continued a suspended game from Friday at the Salisbury University Sea Gull Invitational, hanging on to defeat Kings College (PA) 4-3 on Saturday morning.

The Hornets led 4-2 in the fourth Friday before play was halted due to precipitation. Barbie Miles (Kinsale, VA/Washington & Lee) pitched five innings for the win, scattering five hits and four walks, while Katie Bruce (Lanexa. VA/Lafayette) worked two hitless innings for the save. Audra Della Rosa (Rumford, RI/St. Mary Academy Bay View) was 2-4 and Kirstin Swank (Bear, DE/Caravel Academy) connected on a three-run home run.

Lynchburg (14-0) had two additional contests washed out on Saturday. The Hornets travel across town Thursday afternoon to face Randolph College in an Old Dominion Athletic Conference doubleheader at 3:30 p.m.
