Lynchburg Men's Lacrosse Falls 14-13 in OT Thriller

HAVERFORD, PA - The Lynchburg College men's lacrosse team fell to #18 ranked Haverford College 14-13 in overtime on Saturday afternoon in heavy rainfall.


LC led 13-11 with 2:34 left in the fourth quarter, but Andrew Kim would score two goals at 1:23 and 1:14 left to send the game into overtime. Dean Granoff would then score off a feed from Mike Distler with 1:07 left in OT to seal the upset win
for Haverford.


Ryan Cranston (West Chester, PA/Henderson) scored three goals and added two assists for Lynchburg, Tyler Tolson (Lutherville, MD/Loyola Blakefield) tallied three scores, and Michael Mundorf (Catonsville, MD/Mt. Saint Joseph) found the back of the net once and assisted on three goals. Goalie Garrett Curran (Hull, MA/Tabor Academy) recorded 11 saves.


Four different players scored at least three goals for Haverford (3-0), led by Distler's three goals and four assists. Brian Fleishhacker notched a game-high four goals while Kim and Granoff each scored three times. Haverford netminder Jake Medlinger notched 11 saves.


Haverford outshot the Hornets 46-38 and won 16-27 face-offs. Lynchburg was successful on 15 of 25 clears while Haverford converted on 21 of 23 attempts and they also held the Hornets to just 1-for-10 on extra man opportunities.

LC (2-2) returns to the field on Friday, hosting Hendrix University at 7 pm in non-conference action.
