Hornet Women Lax Finishes Strong to Defeat Frostburg State 14-11

             FROSTBURG, MD – Junior Deana Welsch (Yorktown Heights, NY/Yorktown Heights) scored five times to lift the Lynchburg College women’s lacrosse team to a 14-11 win at Frostburg State University Monday evening.

             The game was tied at five at halftime, but the Hornets scored the first three goals after intermission to open a comfortable lead. Kathryn Ollice (West Chester, PA/West Chester) netted three goals and both her and Welsch added assists. Nichole Locher (Yorktown Heights, NY/Yorktown Heights) had two goals and three assists, while Morgan Logue (Barrington, IL/Barrington), Lindsay Gengras (Avon, CT/Avon), Kit Russell (Potomac Falls, VA/Dominion) and Tricia Clay (Alexandria, VA/West Potomac) each had one goal.

             Lamont Lindsay, Hildebrand Elisabeth and Rihard Carly each scored three times for the Bobcats (0-2).

             The Hornets (3-0) open Old Dominion Athletic Conference play Wednesday, hosting Bridgewater College at 6 p.m.
