Hornet Tennis Teams Compete in Hilton Head over Spring Break

            HILTON HEAD, SC – The Lynchburg College men’s and women’s tennis teams are spending the week of Spring Break at Hilton Head playing teams from around the country.

            On Sunday night, the Hornet men lost to Tri-State University (IN) 8-1, with sophomore Kyler Paluga (Williamsburg, VA/Lafayette) picking up the LC win at #4 singles 0-6, 6-2, 10-7. The LC women’s team dropped a 0-9 decision to Tri-State, with Rachel Moore (Richmond, VA/Varina) suffering a tight loss at #6 singles in a third-set tie breaker.

            Elizabethtown College (PA) won 9-0 Monday morning over both Hornet teams. Jay Duimstra (Toms River, NJ/Toms River North) lost a tight match at #1 singles for the men, and Elizabeth Eckert (Annandale, VA/Annandale) and Moore both lost competitive matches.

            Both teams will play Wilkes University (PA) Wednesday at 8 a.m.
