Four bands will perform at the Invisible Children Benefit Concert at the Westover Room in the Burton Student Center at LC at 7 p.m. February 24. There is no charge, but the audience will be asked to make donations.
The local bands are Guilty By Design, Steal the Prize, and Ready the Way, while Life's Only Lesson is from Newport News. Proceeds go to Invisible Children, a nonprofit helping children in war-torn northern Uganda.
The event is sponsored by Lynchburg College as part of a campaign to raise awareness about genocide, violence, and health crises, primarily in Africa. The week of March 8-15, LC is hosting a Gifts for Gulu Soccer Extravaganza, a series of evening programs on violence in Africa, educational tents, and a 5K race and children's one-mile Fun Run.
