LC Baseball Drops 9-4 Decision to North Carolina Wesleyan College
ROCKY MOUNT, NC – The Battling Bishops of North Carolina Wesleyan College (4-1) took command early, and rolled to a 9-4 win over the Lynchburg College baseball team Friday afternoon in non-conference play.
Lynchburg (0-3) could not get much going offensively, as the Hornets connected for just six hits. Kyle Bradley (Brookneal, VA/William Campbell) had a RBI double, while senior outfielder Matthew Winston (Roanoke, VA/Cave Spring) also had a run scoring single.
Current Old Dominion Athletic Conference pitcher of the week D.W. Moore (Lynchburg, VA/Heritage) did not fare as well as his first start, surrendering seven runs on eights hits over three and a third innings. Freshman pitchers Matt Morgan (Bedford, VA/Liberty), Jared Millner (Forest, VA/Jefferson Forest) and Josh Youngman (Chesterfield, VA/Manchester) posted three combined innings of scoreless relief, allowing just two hits.
The Hornets continue their weekend trek through North Carolina tomorrow when they take on Frostburg State University at Methodist University at 11 a.m., before turning around to play the host Monarchs at 1 p.m.
