LC Equestrian Competed in Two Events This Weekend
Finished Third on Sunday at Sweet Briar
LYNCHBURG and SWEET BRIAR, VA- The Lynchburg College equestrian team competed in two events over the weekend while finishing third place out of 10 teams on Sunday at Sweet Briar.
On Friday, they competed at the Randolph and LC IHSA show in Lynchburg, VA. Sophomore Caitlin Flathers (Rixeyville, VA) took first place in Novice Over Fences and also took a third place finish in Novice Flat. Four other riders placed in the top three in several events. Seniors Melissa Fairfield (Forest, VA/Jefferson Forest), Erin Skog (West Chester, PA/Villa Maria), and Patricia Williams each posted a third place finish respectively in Novice Over Fences, Intermediate Flat, and Walt/Trot. Freshman Mary Prinzinger (Goode, VA/Jefferson Forest) placed third in Advanced Walk Trot Canter.
On Sunday, the team traveled to Sweet Briar, VA. Prinzinger and Williams each earned a second place finish respectively in Advanced Walk Trot Canter and Walk Trot while Skog finished third in Intermediate Fences and freshman Jenny Anzelmo (Yellowstone National Park, WY/Madeira) came in at third in Intermediate Flat.
The equestrian team returns to action on Saturday, February 16 at Bridgewater College in Bridgewater, VA.
