Guilford Defeats LC Men 103-53

            GREENSBORO, NC – Senior center Ben Strong posted game highs of 30 points and 11 rebounds Saturday as the nationally ranked Guilford College men’s basketball team rolled to a 103-53 win over Lynchburg College in an ODAC game.

             Sophomore Mason Wooldridge (New Canton, VA/Fork Union) opened the game with a three-point basket for Lynchburg, but Guilford scored the next eight points and opened a commanding 64-23 lead by halftime.

             Wooldridge was the lone Hornet in double figures, netting 18 points. Evan Fancourt (Greensboro, NC/Grimsley) and Steven Echols (Martinsville, VA/Carlisle) each added nine points.

             Strong reached the 2,000-point plateau for the Quakers (16-4/8-2 ODAC) in his career. Clay Henson and George Neville had 12 points apiece for Guilford.

 

            Lynchburg (3-17/1-12 ODAC) travels across town to face Randolph College Wednesday at 7 p.m.
