EMU Outguns LC Men 87-52

LYNCHBURG, VA – Senior forward Brad Parkes scored a game-high 29 points, making 10 of his 13 field goal attempts as Eastern Mennonite University defeated the Lynchburg College men’s basketball team Saturday afternoon in Old Dominion Athletic Conference action from Turner Gym.

The Royals scored the first 13 points and held at-least a double-digit edge the rest of the way.  EMU (5-12/2-9 ODAC) shot a sizzling 57 percent from the field for the game, also hitting seven shots from long range. The Hornets were decimated by turnovers, committing 25 on the game, compared to EMU’s 11 giveaways.

Sophomore forward Mason Wooldridge (New Canton, VA/Fork Union) again led the LC offense, scoring a team-high 21 points to go with a game-high 10 rebounds. Wooldridge’s double-double was his third on the season, also marking the 10th time this season he has led Lynchburg in scoring.

George Johnson hit three triples to go with two free-throws for 10 points. All but two players scored for Eastern Mennonite, who played 15 players on the afternoon.

Lynchburg (3-15/1-10 ODAC) looks ahead to tomorrow afternoon when they travel to Harrisonburg, VA for an ODAC matchup with Bridgewater College. Tip-off with the Eagles is set for 3 p.m
