Lynchburg Breezes Past Hollins 73-47

ROANOKE, VA – The Lynchburg College women’s basketball team jumped out to a quick lead and never looked back as they defeated Hollins University 73-47 Tuesday night in Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) play.

The Hornets were led by Brittany Dahn (Glen Allen, VA/Deep Run) who scored a team-high 18 points, 12 coming in the first half. Sophomore Dana Esposito (New Port Richey, Fl/Holy Names) also chipped in with 13 points, while Kelly Sutherland (Basking Ridge, NJ/Ridge) and Chevonne Booker (Richmond, VA/Thomas Jefferson) had 11 and nine points, respectively.

Hollins (0-16/0-12 ODAC) was led by Emily Long, who had a game-high 21 points for the hosts, with teammate Tamara Phillips adding 20 for HU. With the win, the Hornets matched their league win total of all last season, with nine conference outings still left to play.

Lynchburg returns to the court Friday night as it entertains conference rival Bridgewater College for a 7 p.m. tip. The game will be web broadcasted online through the ODAC website by Penn Atlantic for a minimal fee.
