Chris Word Named ODAC Men’s Track Athlete of the Week
SALEM, VA – Sophomore Chris Word (Lynchburg, VA/E.C. Glass) was named the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) men’s athlete of the week after his performances at the Liberty University Asics meet this past weekend.
Word nearly tasted victory twice at Liberty over the weekend. Word fell .01 second short of winning the 400-meter dash, crossing the line in a time of 50.58. He rebounded by helping the Hornets to victory in the mile relay in a time of 3:22.89.
The Hornets track and field team split up this Saturday to go to the UNC Invitational in Chapel Hill, NC and the VMI Winter Relays in Lexington, VA.
