Roanoke Rolls past LC Men 90-64

             SALEM, VA – The Roanoke College men’s basketball team held Lynchburg College to just 29 percent shooting from the floor Sunday afternoon as the Maroons breezed to a 90-64 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) victory.

             The game was tied at five all in the first few minutes, but the Maroons outscored LC 36-9 over the next 13 minutes to put the game away early.

             Senior swingman Evan Fancourt (Greensboro, NC/Grimsley) nailed five three pointers en route to a team-high 16 points. Mason Wooldridge (New Canton, VA/Fork Union) posted 14 points, five rebounds and five assists and K.C. Mendez (San Antonio, TX/Winston Churchill) tallied career high of 10 points and 10 rebounds.  

             Ben Shrader nailed six three-pointers to pace the Maroons (13-3/7-2 ODAC) with 18 points. Curtis Peery added 12 points and seven caroms and Zach Milton also scored 12. Lynchburg shot just 19-of-66 from the floor (29%), while Roanoke made 44 percent of its field-goal attempts (30-69).

 Lynchburg (3-12/1-8 ODAC) travels to Emory & Henry College Wednesday for another ODAC game at 7 p.m.
