SALEM, VA – The Lynchburg College women’s basketball team got 22 points from sophomore forward Brittany Dahn (Glen Allen, Deep Run), but could not overcome 34 percent shooting from the field as the Hornets fell to Roanoke 74-68 in an Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) game Saturday afternoon.
The game was a see-saw battle the entire contest, with the Hornets (8-5/5-3 ODAC) holding a nine-point lead at 8:18 mark of the first half. RC roared back, finishing the half on a 22-6 run to lead by five at intermission.
The second half proved to be much as the same, as the visitors retook the lead, and led 44-39 with 13:04 remaining thanks to a three by Kristina Darby (Tampa, FL/Holy Names). The Maroons (7-6/4-2 ODAC) surged back to regain the lead, and withstood a furious comeback from LC in the waning moments.
