        LYNCHBURG, VA – The Virginia Wesleyan College men’s basketball team defeated Lynchburg College 92-64 Saturday afternoon in an Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) contest.

         Sophomore forward Mason Wooldridge (New Canton, VA/Fork Union) recorded his fifth straight 20-point game, recording game-highs of 28 points and nine rebounds for Lynchburg. He shot 10-19 overall from the field and 3-6 from deep Steven Echols (Martinsville, VA/Carlisle) added 14 points for the Hornets.

         Tyler Fantin and Tonton Balenga each contributed with 21 points for VWC (10-3/4-2 ODAC) while Norman Hassell tallied 16 points and Stephen Fields tacked on 15 points. The Marlins outshot the Hornets 56% to 44% for the game while VWC forced LC (3-9/1-5) into 17 turnovers and committed nine.

        Lynchburg travels to Hampden-Sydney College on Wednesday for an ODAC contest at 7 p.m.
