Loans of research material from other libraries are restricted to Lynchburg College faculty, staff and current students. Request forms must be filled out completely and may be left at the Interlibrary Loan Office, Reference Desk or sent online through the campus network. Limits: There is a limit of 5 requests per topic for undergraduates. For exceptions, faculty should consult with the Interlibrary Loan Office. There is no limit on requests for faculty and graduate students. Costs: The patron is responsible for any copying or lending fees charged by the lending library. Most in-state loans and copies are free. Most out-of-state locations have fees or copying charges. The patron should indicate on the Interlibrary Loan form the maximum they are willing to pay. Time: In-town requests average 2-3 working days, in-state requests average 7-10 working days. Out-of-state requests may take longer. Renewals: Renewals must be requested through the Interlibrary Loan Office, 544-8441, prior to the due date indicated on the book cover. Overdues: A fine of $1 per item per day will be charged for items not returned to the Interlibrary Loan Office by the date indicated on the book cover. Returns: Return Interlibrary Loan items to the Interlibrary Loan Office or the Reference Desk. Electronic requests may be made in three ways: - FirstSearch databases - Click on "ILL" button, fill out onscreen form and transmit.
- Cambridge Scientific Abstracts databases - Click on "locate document," fill out onscreen form, click on
"send form to your library", click on "send the request". - Use the library's ILL online form- you will be given an onscreen form to fill out and submit.
