Two Hornets Nab All-State Men’s Soccer Status

Two Hornets Nab All-State Men’s Soccer Status

           HAMPDEN-SYDNEY, VATwo Lynchburg College student-athletes were honored Monday with the release of the 2007 Virginia Sports Information Directors (VaSID) College Division Men’s Soccer team.

           Sophomore Pat Brown (Williamsburg, VA/Christchurch) was named to the first-team – after earning all-Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) honors last month. The defender played in all 18 games and helped lead a defense that allowed just 25 goals all season. He also contributed with one goal and two assists for four points.

          Senior midfielder Modou Jobarteh (Silver Spring, MD/John F. Kennedy) was named to the second-team after posting two goals and a team second best three assists for seven points.

           Virginia Wesleyan College sophomore forward Brandon Massie was named the VaSID Men’s Soccer Player of the Year, Hampden-Sydney College freshman goalkeeper John Robert Plyler was named Rookie of the Year, while H-SC head coach Josh Laux was picked as the VaSID Coach of the Year.
