Honorary Alumnus/a Award
This award, presented since 1986, honors non-alumni of the college for exceptional interest, dedication, and/or service to Lynchburg College
Eligibility Requirements:
A candidate can be, but is not limited to being, a staff member, faculty member, board member, or friend of the College.
Criteria for Selection:
Each candidate must have displayed exceptional interest, dedication, and/or service to Lynchburg College.
Nominations:
Accepted from all sources.
Selection Process:
Information about nominee is shared with executive committee of the Alumni Board (president, three vice presidents and secretary). Majority vote by executive committee determines whether a nominee receives Honorary Alumnus/a status.
Presentation of Award:
Honorary Alumnus/a status will be conferred on the individual and a certificate presented at an appropriate time by the president of the Alumni Association or by his/her designate.
Other:
This honor may be posthumously bestowed.
The executive secretary of the Alumni Association will notify Alumni Board Directors of each individual who is granted Honorary Alumnus/a status. The number of awards to be presented within a given year will be left to the discretion of the executive committee.
