The College of New Jersey Scores late to Defeat Washington (MO) 1-0

LYNCHBURG, VA – Senior midfielder Dana DiBruno scored with 8:52 left on the game clock to lift The College of New Jersey to a 1-0 win Saturday over Washington University (MO) in an NCAA Division III Championship Tournament sectional game, hosted by Lynchburg College. The Lions advance into the sectional finals Sunday at 1 p.m.

The contest was scoreless at halftime and for the first 36 minutes of the second half until TCNJ was awarded a corner kick. DiBruno corralled a loose ball just inside the box and found the back of the net to break the scoreless tie.

Carrie Sear made four saves for Washington (17-4) to keep her team in the game and Jessica Clarke made three stops for the Lions. TCNJ (20-01-) out-shot Washington 17-10 and held a 5-0 edge in corner kicks.

TCNJ will face the winner of the Lynchburg College/Emory University (GA) match-up for the right to play in the NCAA Final Four.
