Lynchburg Men’s Basketball Opens with a 101-66 Loss against So. Virginia

BUENA VISTA, VA - The Lynchburg college men's basketball team fell on the road to Southern Virginia University 101-66 on Friday night in Buena Vista, VA, to open the 2007-08 season.

         Senior forward Evan Fancourt (Greensboro/Grimsley) tallied 21 points and six rebounds to lead the Hornets. Sophomore forward Mason Wooldridge (New Canton, VA/Fork Union) notched 10 rebounds to go with eight points and two steals. Chris Pendelton scored a game-high 26 points for the Knights (2-1) while Dallas Rivera tallied 10 points and nine assists. LC out-rebounded the Knights 40-35 while SVU forced the Hornets into 25 turnovers.

             Lynchburg hosts Methodist on Tuesday at 8 p.m.
