Women’s Soccer

 

Senior midfielder Emily Sledd (Mechanicsville, VA/Lee-Davis) scored midway through the second half Saturday night to give Lynchburg a 1-0 win over Maryville College (TN) in a first-round game in the NCAA Division III Championship Tournament. Sledd redirected a shot into the net with 29:38 left in the second half for the game’s only score. For the season, Sledd has three goals and three assists.

The Hornets went on to defeat Roanoke College the next night, also 1-0, to advance into the Sweet 16.
