Hornet Volleyball Upsets Roanoke at ODAC Tourney

             ROANOKE, VA – The fifth-seeded Lynchburg College volleyball team defeated #4 Roanoke College in four games Friday in the opening round of the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Championship Tournament, hosted by Hollins University.

             Senior setter Dara Sandifer (Monroe, VA/Holy Cross) led LC with 60 assists and added 15 digs. Chelsea Jones (Richmond, VA/Monacan) had 15 kills, Katie Warlick (Stafford, VA/Colonial Forge) posted 13 kills and 15 digs, and Kylie Lucas (Verona, VA/Fort Defiance) and Amanda Walsh (Forest, VA/Heritage) each had 11 kills. Savannah Tinsley (Lynchburg, VA/E.C. Glass) led the team with 19 digs and three service aces, and Jasmine Murphy (Shipman, VA/Nelson County) had 11 digs.

             Lynchburg (20-7) will square off with top-seeded BridgewaterCollege Saturday at 10:30 a.m. The Eagles (30-1) defeated Eastern Mennonite University in the first round. The LC/BC winner advances to the conference finals at 3 p.m.
