PBS Videos now online!
Through the library's membership in VIVA, the Virtual Library of Virginia, a collection of 498 PBS documentary videos is now available online through the library's catalog. These are presented as streaming video, not downloaded files, and can only be viewed from computers on the campus network. Do a keyword search in the Books/Films/Music search for "pbs streaming" to see a complete list. Or, search for a favorite PBS series by title or director.
*Special Note: To view these films you must have QuickTime Player or QuickTime Player Lite loaded on your computer. There is a link to QuickTime Player Lite in the entry for all the PBS videos. We also strongly recommend that you use the Firefox browser when viewing these videos. They load much faster in Firefox than in Internet Explorer. You can download Firefox here.

For the Lynchburg College community, this means a great increase in the number of indexed periodicals and full-text articles in a wide range of subjects. It also means that several very familiar online resources, Expanded Academic ASAP, Academic OneFile, and the Gale Virtual Reference Library, will no longer be available. Other Gale products, such as the Gale Literature Resource Center and the MLA International Bibliography will continue as before. If you have questions regarding these changes, please contact us at refdesk@lynchburg.edu or call us at 544-8575.
