Library Instructional Services Mission Statement |

|
The Library provides both class and individual instruction in the development of search strategies and the evaluation of sources, in the use of specific sources, and in the use of the Internet for academic purposes. The effectiveness and success of the instructional services program depends on the close collaboration of librarians and classroom faculty. Faculty members are encouraged to request course-specific single instructional sessions on the use of information resources. The liaison librarian for the specific school will whenever possible conduct these sessions.
The Instructional Services librarian teaches two for credit courses; GS103 Introduction to Effective Library Use and GS 113 Electronic Research in the College Library. All the reference librarians offer reference assistance by appointment to students, and faculty and staff from their liaison areas. Mission Statement To foster the development of information literacy, the ability to locate, evaluate and use information, enabling students to successfully meet curricular requirement s and to become independent life-long learners.
