LEXINGTON, VA – Travis Short broke a scoreless tie late in the second half Saturday and the Washington & Lee University men went on to defeat Lynchburg College 2-0 in the quarterfinal round of the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Tournament.

The teams were tied 0-0 at halftime and almost 30 minutes into the second half when the Generals struck. Travis Short scored on a feed from Strock Monroe at the 74:51 mark to break the tie – and followed up five minutes later with a Josh Dodds’ unassisted tally.

The shot total was tied at 16 apiece, and Lynchburg held an 8-2 edge in corner kicks (5-0 in the second half). General keeper Ted Sheedy made five saves while Marcus Jordan (Lynchburg, VA/Germantown) made four stops.

The Generals (11-2-3) advance into the ODAC Tournament semifinals, while LC closes out the 2007 season with a 10-6-2 record.
