Box Score

LYNCHBURG, VA – Three different players scored Tuesday evening as the Lynchburg College women’s soccer team defeated Guilford College 3-0 in an Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) match.

Senior Karey Richardson (Herndon, VA/Herndon) headed in a corner kick from fellow senior Sara Butsavage (Virginia Beach, VA/First Colonial) just five minutes into the contest. Freshman Kelsey Rogers (Upton, MA/Nipmuc Regional) scored an unassisted goal just before the half and sophomore Ashley Hoath (Alexandria, VA/Mount Vernon) buried a penalty kick early in the second half to end the scoring.

Lynchburg out-shot its guests 27-5 and held a 6-1 advantage in corner kicks. Amber Stapler made eight saves for the Quakers (7-11/7-4 ODAC).

The two teams will play again Saturday in the first round of the ODAC Championship Tournament, as LC earned the #4 seed and the Quakers enter as the fifth-seed. The game will be held on Lynchburg’s Shellenberger Field, with a game time to be announced later in the week.
