LC and Emory & Henry Men’s Soccer play to 2-2 Tie

Box Score

EMORY, VA – The Lynchburg College and Emory & Henry College men’s soccer squads played to a 2-2 double overtime tie Saturday afternoon in an Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) clash.

The Hornets got on the scoreboard early, as Modou Jobarteh (Silver Spring, MD/John F. Kennedy) scored an unassisted tally just 4:12 into the game. Luke Lanier tied the game for the Wasps at the 33:55 mark, but LC’s Josh Reed (Newark, DE/Caravel Academy) put Lynchburg ahead again four minutes later. E&H tied the game again at 57:54 as PJ Henson scored from Zack Miller - and neither defense would allow the tiebreaker through the last 32 minutes of regulation and each 10-minute overtime period.

Daniel Mills made 10 saves for the Wasps (7-9-2/0-6-2 ODAC), and Marcus Jordan (Lynchburg, VA/Germantown) turned away three shots for LC. Lynchburg held advantages of 25-6 in shots and 9-4 in corner kicks.

The Hornets complete the 2007 regular season Tuesday, traveling to Bridgewater for another conference game at 3 p.m.
