            BRIDGEWATER, VA – The Lynchburg College field hockey team survived a scoreless first half to defeat Bridgewater College 3-0 in Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) play Saturday.

             Sophomore Allie Weir (Richmond, VA/James River) broke the ice four minutes after intermission with a goal from senior Samantha Howard (Fairfax Station, VA/W.T. Woodson). Jenny Weir (Richmond, VA/James River) put LC ahead 2-0 with 14 minutes left and Katie Brennan (Manassas, VA/Osbourn Park) added an unassisted insurance tally in the final seven minutes.

             Elizabeth Sullivan made 17 stops for Bridgewater (4-12/2-5). Lynchburg out-shot the Eagles 34-0 and held an 18-1 edge in penalty corners.

             The Hornets (14-4/5-1 ODAC) travel to Washington & Lee University Tuesday for a make-up game at 6:30 p.m.
