Hornet Volleyball Hosts Quad Match

             LYNCHBURG, VA – The Lynchburg College volleyball team dropped a pair of matches Saturday as the squad hosted a Quad match in Turner Gymnasium.

            Southern Virginia defeated LC 30-26, 30-25, 21-30, 30-21 in the day’s first match. Amanda Walsh (Forest, VA/Heritage) had a team-best 11 kills with 10 blocks, Kylie Lucas (Verona, VA/Fort Defiance) had 10 kills and Katie Warlick (Stafford, VA/Colonial Forge) compiled eight kills and 13 digs. Dara Sandifer (Monroe, VA/Holy Cross) had 31 assists and 15 digs while Savannah Tinsley (Lynchburg, VA/E.C. Glass) had 22 digs. 

             LC fell to Transylvania 30-18, 30-26, 25-30, 30-23 in the day’s last contest. Michelle Boucher (Chesapeake, VA/Nansemond Suffolk) posted 20 kills, Warlick had 11 and Chelsea Jones (Richmond, VA/Monacan) finished with 10. Sandifer had 30 assists.    

             In other matches, Southern Virginia defeated Transylvania 30-25, 30-26, 30-24 and Sweet Briar 30-21, 30-19, 30-19 and Transylvania defeated SBC 25-30, 30-16, 30-18 and 30-14.

             Lynchburg (14-6) hosts Ferrum College Monday evening at 6:30 p.m. in a non-conference match.
