LC Men’s Soccer Rallies for 2-1 Win over Guilford

             LYNCHBURG, VA – The Lynchburg College men’s soccer team overcame an early 1-0 deficit to post a 2-1 win Saturday night over Guilford College in Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) play.

             Scott Meguid headed in a ball from Joe Rigert 23 minutes in to give the Quakers a 1-0 edge. Senior Modou Jobarteh (Silver Spring, MD/John F. Kennedy) scored from Maurwyn A. Bowen (Montgomery Village, MD/Seneca Valley) seven minutes later to tie the score, and Josh Reed (Newark, DE/Caravel Academy) would score what proved to be the game winner at the 33:27 mark.

             Lynchburg out-shot the guests 18-11, while Guilford held a 4-2 edge in corner kicks. Beau Arceneaux made seven stops for Guilford (5-9-1/2-4-1 ODAC), while Marcus Jordan (Lynchburg, VA/Germantown) stopped three shots for LC.

             The Hornets (9-4-1/3-2-1 ODAC) travel to Hampden-Sydney College Wednesday for another ODAC game at 4 p.m.
