Michael Abbonzio Scores Twice as LC Men's Soccer Defeats Eastern Mennonite 3-0

LYNCHBURG, VA - Freshman Michael Abbonzio (Maple Glen, PA/Hatboro-Horsham Sr) scored two times Saturday as the Lynchburg College men's team defeated Eastern Mennonite University 3-0.

Abbonzio opened the scoring in the first half off a pass from Modou Jobarteh ( Silver Spring, MD/John F. Kennedy). Pat Brown added an unassisted goal off a header later in the first half to give the Hornets a 2-0 lead going into halftime. Abbonzio would strike again off a pass from Jared Melot (Reading, PA/Antietam) to give the Hornets a 3-0 margin of victory.

Lynchburg (7-4-1/2-2-1) travels to Methodist University on Tuesday for a non-conference game at 4 p.m.
