WINCHESTER, VA - Sophomore Allie Weir (Richmond, VA/James River) scored four times Sunday as the Lynchburg College field hockey team defeated Shenandoah University 7-0 in non-conference play.

The Hornets scored four times in the first 19 minutes of the game, three from Weir, and Lynchburg never looked back. Senior Samantha Howard (Fairfax, VA/W.T. Woodson) had two scores, Jessi Bowman (Midlothian, VA/Clover Hill) had a goal and two helpers while Caitlin Gibb (North East, MD/Rising Sun) and Katie Brennan (Manassas, VA/Osbourn Park) each had an assist.

Lynchburg out-shot SU 19-6 and were awarded 11 penalty corners to Shenandoah's six. Chelsea Smith made six saves for the visitors.

Lynchburg (8-4) hosts Randolph-Macon College Wednesday at 6 p.m. in Old Dominion Athletic Conference play.
