Hornet XC Teams Run at Paul Short Invitational
BETHLEHEM, PA - The Lynchburg College men's and women's cross country teams competed Friday at the Paul Short Invitational, hosted by Lehigh University. The LC men took 12th in a 39-team field, while the women finished 20th out of 33 squads.
Sophomore Ricky Flynn (Gaithersburg, MD/Damascus) led the men's team with a fourth-place finish in 26:06, Patrick Jacobs (Bloomingdale, NJ/Butler) finished in 27:27 and Jeremy Faulk (Ashland, VA/Patrick Henry) crossed the finish line in 27:49. Chris Irby (South Boston, VA/Halifax County - 28:05), Brian Clapp (Smithfield, VA/Denbigh Baptist - 28:07) and Richard Apgar (Somers, NY/Somers - 28:38) rounded out the top six.
Freshman Jennie Pernisi (Camden, NY/APW) paced the Hornet women with a 42nd place finish in 24:10 and Molly Galloway (Fairfax, VA/W.T. Woodson) took 89th in 24:59. Ashley Meyer (Springfield, MO/Glendale) and Lindsay Fender (Fork Union, VA/Fluvanna County) placed 112th and 113th respectively in 25:24 and Stephanie Searing (Skaneateles, NY/Skaneateles) was 156th in 26:23.
Lynchburg will have next weekend off from formal competition.
