LYNCHBURG, VA - The Lynchburg College men's soccer team hung tough with the #7 nationally ranked Spartans of York College (Pa.) on Saturday afternoon, but fell 1-0 to a team that now has a 48-game unbeaten streak.

Matt Beale of York scored the lone goal just 3:37 into the match to vault York to the win. Lynchburg battled York for all 90 minutes, as shown in the stats. York held a narrow 9-8 edge in shots and a 5-2 edge in corner kicks while each team recorded two saves.

York goes to 8-0 on the season while Lynchburg falls to 5-2-1. Lynchburg goes on the road on Wednesday to take on the Maroons of Roanoke College in Salem, VA, at 7 pm.
