Hornet Volleyball takes two at Sweet Briar Tri-Match

SWEET BRIAR, VA - The Lynchburg College volleyball team swept non-conference matches Saturday against Sweet Briar College and Mountain State University at the SBC Tri-Match.

LC defeated the Vixens of Sweet Briar 30-13, 30-17, 30-14 in the opener. Amanda Walsh (Forest, VA/Heritage) had a team-high 13 kills, while Savannah Tinsley (Lynchburg, VA/E.C. Glass) and Jasmine Murphy (Shipman, VA/Nelson County) contributed 18 and 10 digs, respectively. Dara Sandifer (Monroe, VA/Holy Cross) had 10 assists.

The Hornets also defeated Mountain State in three games, 30-28, 30-24, 30-18. Katie Warlick (Stafford, VA/Colonial Forge) led LC with 10 kills, while Chelsea Jones (Richmond, VA/Monacan), Walsh and Kylie Lucas (Verona, VA/Fort Defiance) each had six kills. Sandifer compiled 29 assists and 11 digs, and Tinsley had 13 digs.

Lynchburg (10-2) travels to Bridgewater College for an Old Dominion Athletic Conference match Thursday evening at 6:30 p.m.
