Box Score

LYNCHBURG, VA - The Lynchburg College soccer team defeated Randolph College 3-1 Thursday night in the first-ever meeting between the two schools in varsity men's play in any sport.

Randolph answered back just 48 seconds before halftime, as Jonathon Bolton converted on a penalty kick and the game was tied at one at halftime.

The Hornets' struck right after intermission, as Jared Melot (Reading, PA/Antietam) fed Phil Francois (West Windsor, NJ/Princeton) at the 48:27 mark. LC's Josh Reed (Newark, DE/Caravel Academy) netted an insurance goal with 1:20 left from Pat Brown (Williamsburg, VA/Christchurch).

Lynchburg out-shot RC 37-3 and held a 6-0 edge in corner kicks. Wildcat goalkeeper Aaron Humphreys made 10 saves, including seven in the second stanza.
