Hornet Men's Soccer Defeats Salisbury 2-1

RALEIGH, NC - The Lynchburg College men's soccer team defeated Salisbury University 2-1 Sunday on the final day of play at the DIII Esprit Tournament.

The Sea Gulls scored the game's first goal, but Josh Reed (Newark, DE/Caravel Academy) scored from Cam Smith (Goode, VA/Jefferson Forest) at the 26-minute mark to tie the score. The contest was tied at halftime and through the first 20 minutes of the second before Shawn Bender (Virginia Beach, VA/Bayside) found the back of the net, assisted by Matt Dunnum (Fairfax, VA/Robinson).

The Hornets (4-1) host Randolph College Thursday evening at 7 p.m.
