Hornet Men's and Women's Cross Country Competes at W&L
LEXINGTON, VA - The Lynchburg College men's and women's cross country teams competed at the Washington & Lee University Invitational on Saturday.
Freshman Jennie Pernisi (Camden, NY/APW) won the women's race in 24:38 - a full 10 seconds ahead of the nearest competitor. Ashley Meyer (Springfield, MO/Glendale) was 11th in 25:53 and Molly Galloway (Fairfax, VA/W.T. Woodson) took 15th in 26:04.
Sophomore Patrick Jacobs ( Bloomingdale, NJ/Butler) paced the men's team on the 8K course with a sixth-place finish in 29:52, while Brian Clapp (Smithfield, VA/Denbigh Baptist) was 17th in 30:50. Ben Kulp (Amherst, MA/Amherst Regional) placed 26th in 31:22, with James Young (Mechanicsville, MD/Chopticon) right behind in 28th in 31:27. Chris Irby (South Boston, VA/Halifax County) and Bryan Kirby (Alexandria, VA/Edison) finished in 40th and 41st, respectively.
LC is off next weekend, but returns to action on Friday, September 28 at the Paul Short Invite.
