Hornet Volleyball Keeps Winning Streak Alive With Wins over Guilford and Meredith

GREENSBORO, NC - The Lynchburg College volleyball team defeated Guilford College and Meredith College Friday night in matches played at the Greensboro College Tournament. The Hornets have won the first six matches of their 2007 season.

LC defeated Guilford 30-13, 30-18, 30-17 in a non-conference match. Junior Amanda Walsh (Forest, VA/Heritage) paced the Hornets with 12 kills, Katie Warlick (Stafford, VA/Colonial Forge) posted 11 kills and 10 digs while Michelle Boucher (Chesapeake, VA/Nanesmond Suffolk) had 10 kills. Dara Sandifer (Monroe, VA/Holy Cross) had 34 assists and nine digs and Savannah Tinsley (Lynchburg, VA/E.C. Glass) had 10 digs.

Lynchburg breezed past Meredith 30-15, 30-21, 30-14 in a match played Friday night. Warlick had 10 kills, 12 digs and four service aces, Jones had nine kills and Boucher had eight. Sandifer tallied 28 assists and Tinsley had 14 digs.

The Hornets (5-0) face Piedmont and Greensboro on Saturday.
